Condor Trekkers offers city tours of Sucre and hikes in the local area including the spectacular Cordillera de los Frailes and the magnificent crater of Maragua, since February 2011. 100% of the profits from these treks are directly invested in the communities, through which the clients hike, providing a natural give-and-take relationship between tourists and locals.

The Trekkers & the Café
The establishment of a non-profit Café was planned since the beginning as a second part of this project.
Today, the synergies between the Condor Café and Condor Trekkers work beautifully. They operate from the same location and more importantly, share the same philosophy and the same long-term goals – to reduce poverty by using market forces to create and share wealth within the community.
On an operational level, this also implies that the food for the tours is prepared in the kitchen of the restaurant. The Condor Café prepares for example the famous banana bread, homemade oat cookies and also homemade jam for the tours. All the vegetables and fruits are carefully disinfected before being packed with the same level of hygiene standards as apply in the restaurant.
